About us

I'm Kristin Kucera, owner of Grateful Dog, and that's my beloved golden retriever Kaia with me in the photo. Starting Grateful Dog has been a dream come true — a chance to pour my energy into enriching the lives of animals. Caring for others' pets is a great honor and something I take very seriously. You can rest assured your pet will receive the same high level of care I provide my own dog.

After growing up in Nebraska, I found my way to the Pacific Northwest during college and completed my B.S. in Zoology at the University of Washington. My career in the biotech industry spanned more than 20 years, after which I pursued my passion for pet nutrition, representing a wholesome, human-grade dehydrated food for dogs and cats. I am a big believer in the idea of "food as medicine" — for both humans and animals.

For your protection and peace of mind, Grateful Dog is fully licensed, bonded and insured. Additionally, I am certified in pet CPR and first aid.
